Law Enforcement Request Protocols

Effective date: September 4, 2026

How authorized law-enforcement agencies can submit legal, preservation, and emergency requests to CollegeLoveMatch.

Emergency requests

CollegeLoveMatch cannot dispatch emergency assistance. Anyone facing an immediate threat should contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

An authorized law-enforcement officer seeking information because of an emergency involving an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury should email zach.build23@gmail.com with the subject line EMERGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST. The request should identify the agency and officer, provide official contact information, describe the emergency and its connection to the requested information, identify the relevant account or event, specify the records sought, and explain why disclosure is necessary to address the emergency.

Legal process and agency verification

Subpoenas, court orders, warrants, and other official requests should be emailed to zach.build23@gmail.com with the subject line LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST. Requests must come from an official government email address and include the requesting agency, officer name and identification or badge number, phone number, applicable legal authority, relevant account identifiers, requested date range and records, and response instructions.

CollegeLoveMatch reviews requests for facial validity, scope, jurisdiction, and legal sufficiency. We may request clarification, narrow an overbroad request, verify the request directly with the agency, require appropriate legal process, or object when permitted by law. Submission does not guarantee disclosure.

Preservation requests

Authorized law-enforcement agencies may request preservation of specified account records pending valid legal process. The request should identify the account or records with particularity, state the legal basis and requested preservation period, and provide agency and officer verification details. CollegeLoveMatch will preserve available records when and for as long as required by applicable law.

User notice and confidentiality

CollegeLoveMatch may notify an affected user of a request unless prohibited by law, a valid nondisclosure order, or a determination that notice would create a risk of harm, interfere with an investigation, or compromise service security. Requests for confidentiality should state the legal basis and requested duration.

Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, or unrelated sensitive information by ordinary email. After validating a request, CollegeLoveMatch may provide separate instructions for secure transmission of responsive records.
